Oral History and Archives Project

A variety of tasks are available including scanning newspaper articles, viewing, and cataloging video tapes, oral history interviews and research, and editing transcriptions.  Many tasks involve computer skills including a good comfort level with Microsoft Word and Excel, using speech-to-text software, and uploading material to a database.

Once fully trained, volunteers can do much of this work from home and, in the case of some projects, do not necessarily have to be physically in the Berkshires. For every four hours of work, volunteers will receive a voucher toward free tickets to Shakespeare & Company performances.
