Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. Berkshire United Way partners with the Pittsfield Post Office to help promote the food drive, collect the food, and distribute it to food pantries in and around Pittsfield.
The day-long food drive runs from noon to around 6:00 p.m. Berkshire United Way is seeking volunteers to help collect and weigh the food and then hand off to pantry volunteers who are picking up.
Please note: there is some heavy pushing and lifting involved, depending on the task.
