We are looking for a volunteer who is passionate about healthy local food at our Mobile Farmers Market. The market is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Location at 264 Second Street, Pittsfield. (Sheriff's Department property).
Shoppers will find a variety of seasonal produce at the market, as well as other food staples such as eggs, meat, dairy products, bread, maple syrup and honey. All products are locally sourced. We strive to make shopping at the market a stigma-free, welcoming experience for all.
Responsibilities: Help with market setup: Unload tents/tables/signage and food products from cargo van; arrange product displays Restock products/items as needed Act as cashier, and help us pack up at the end of the market.
Market setup time 1:30 -3:00, Market 3:00 - 5:00 pm, clean up 5:00 - 5:30
Requirements: Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Position requires lifting boxes/bags of food and supplies in/out of a cargo van. Must be able to stand on feet for 4+ hours.
Preferred but not required: Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking
