The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer's goal is to enhance the quality of care and the quality of life for nursing facility residents. Volunteers are required to undergo training and certification that provides education on resident rights, nursing facility regulations, and negotiation. Long-Term Care Ombudsmen seek to empower residents and their family members to become more active in voicing and resolving their personal concerns.
