Berkshire HorseWorks is seeking a spirited and enthusiastic horse person to help manage the wellness of the 10-member herd of rescued horses, ponies, and donkeys. Secure intern/ volunteer practicum hours grooming, feeding, riding, and spending time with the rescued herd.
• Must be experienced and comfortable around horses
• Possess general horse care knowledge
• Recruit and manage new volunteers
• Identify and secure new trail horses
• Maintain tack room, facilities, and stalls
• Help with preparation for and assisting in Equine Assisted Learning and Team building sessions
• Must be dependable, drug free, organized, have a flexible schedule, and a great attitude!
• Must be able to work independently, as well as part of the BHW Team
• Lunge and ride the horses
• Load and transport horses (if able) in bumper pull trailer
• Knowledge of horse nutrition/medical conditions a plus
