Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service 2026
Presented by Berkshire Community College and NAACP Berkshires
Monday, January 19th, 10am to 2pm. Activities will begin closer to 11am.
The event will begin with breakfast and an engaging and poetic keynote by Alÿcia Bacon, Community Engagement Officer, Equity and Inclusion, at Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 27 East St, Pittsfield. This will be followed by volunteer activities (listed below) at or near the church and a free lunch at the church.

Activities:
- Crafting Valentine's Day cards for residents at Hillcrest (on-site at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church)
- Organizing essential needs items with the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center (165 East Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201)
- Activity TBD with Habitat for Humanity (Pittsfield, MA)
- Christian Center info-session + volunteers will conduct outreach to collect community input *weather dependent (193 Robbins Ave, Pittsfield, MA 01201)
- Donate Blood at BHS Mobile Blood Bank (nearby at Dunham Mall in Pittsfield, MA)
- Bring a baked good and spend time with a veteran at Soldier On (360 W Housatonic St, Pittsfield, MA 01201)
