Berkshire Bounty

Who We Are

Our Vision

Everyone in Berkshire County will have equitable access to nutritious food for themselves and their families.

Our Mission

Berkshire Bounty’s mission is to creatively advance community food security through food rescue and delivery in ways that are responsive and collaborative.

Our Values

Synergy: We recognize our role in a broader ecosystem and strengthen our impact through partnerships

Dignity: We respect everyone’s inherent worthiness and right to self-determination

Authenticity: We take time to reflect and communicate about what matters to us so that we can be trustworthy

Responsiveness: We pay close attention to what is happening in our surrounding environment so that we can respond as effectively as possible

Pragmatism: We are clear on our goals and take sensible steps to meet them

What We Do

Food Rescue: Using over 100 registered and active volunteers, donated food is collected through a network of 25 retailers, including local farms, and delivered to 32 emergency food sites that directly serve the community, including food pantries, public schools, and senior centers.

Food Purchase: A significant percentage of donated funds are used to purchase nutritious food, including meat, dairy, eggs, fresh produce, and culturally appropriate items to build capacity and improve the quality of food choices in our partner distribution sites.

Farm to Food Access: In partnership with Berkshire Grown, we purchase and distribute locally grown food to emergency food sites and directly to people’s homes

Community Collaborations: We partner with other organizations in one-off and ongoing collaborative efforts to respond to emergencies and provide additional food to those in need.

Coalition Building: Pulling together organizations and people with lived experience to examine and improve the regional food system.
